2015-2016 (UT- Chattanooga) - Appeared in 10 games as a role player off Chattanooga's bench during his lone season with the program. Scored his career high 5 points versus The Citadel on February 1, 2016 in the team's (125-85) victory.

High School
Finished a stellar high school career as a 1000 point scorer while playing for head coach Wes Helper at Myers Park HS (NC). As a senior, Matthews averaged 19 points per game, 7 rebounds per game, and 1.7 steals per game.

As a junior he averaged 15.3ppg and 6.7rpg while selected to the Southwestern 4A All-Conference by the Charlotte Observer.

Was a 10x MaxPreps.com Player of the Game recipient during his (2014-2015) senior season. Played AAU basketball on Team CP3 All-Stars.
