Donovan Advances to National Tournament
Garnishes Region 10 Player of the Year
Cocoa, FL – Cape Fear Community College golfer David Donovan garnered Region 10 Player of the Year for the second season in a row, becoming the first ever Sea Devil to achieve such a feat. Donovan fired a 71 on the final day to earn an individual spot in the NJCAA National Tournament in Newton, Kansas. His 222, three day score was good enough to finish tied for 6th place. The top six teams and top 10 individuals, qualify for this prestigious tournament. The Sea Devils team placed 11th, thus ending their season and hopes of their sixth straight National Tournament appearance.
Freshman Tommy Raddin carded a 233, while fellow freshman Spencer Peterson and Zach Oplinger both netted a 245. Tyler Morgan rounded out the Sea Devil scoring with a three day total of 252. For all detailed tournament results please visit golfstat.com.
