Cape Fear Sweepts Pitt 3-0
Cape Fear Community College volleyball delivered a dominant performance on the road Tuesday evening, sweeping Pitt Community College in straight sets, 25–14, 25–17, 25–15.
The Sea Devils came out firing from the opening whistle, using aggressive serving to keep Pitt on the defensive and establish control early. Their powerful serve contributed to 37 aces in the match, while efficient offensive execution allowed the team to hit over .250 as a unit. On the defensive side, the Sea Devils recorded 57 digs, enabling them to handle Pitt's attacks and maintain momentum throughout all three sets. Even with quick lineup adjustments, Cape Fear sustained pressure and dictated the pace of play from start to finish.
Assistant coach Abby Vendemia praised the team's focus and execution. "We gained power through the game from the service line, which set us up to control the tempo from our side of the court," she said. "The team stayed focused and executed our game plan, maintaining intensity throughout all three sets."
The victory moves Cape Fear's record to 16-2 and 8-2 in conference play. The Sea Devils are back in action Monday, as they welcome Louisburg College for sophomore night. Game time is set for 6:00pm.
