Bio
Heather enters her second season as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at CFCC. Abrigo-Emborsky was a former volleyball player at CFCC who played for the Sea Devils in 2005 and 2006. During Abrigo-Emborsky’s freshman year she proved she was a powerhouse for the Sea Devils. Heather found herself on the leaderboard for most kills, blocks and digs as well as being nationally ranked for aces (47th) and kills per set (26th). That same year Abrigo-Emborsky led the team to the National Tournament and was awarded All Tournament, All Region, and Player of the Year. During Abrigo-Emborsky’s sophomore year CFCC Women’s Volleyball made another appearance at the National Tournament. Heather was once again nationally ranked for aces (28th) and kills per set (30th). She also became a two time Player of the Year and was named Region 10 Tournament MVP, All Region, and team captain. That year she also led her team with the most blocks and kills, still holding the record for most kills in a season at CFCC.
Following her playing career Abrigo-Emborsky began coaching club volleyball in North Carolina for the Wahines and Cape Fear Volleyball Club. She also spent a year as the head volleyball coach for New Hanover High School. Abrigo-Emborsky then relocated to Atlanta, GA where she joined Metro Volleyball Club before taking on a head-coaching position at one of the country’s top ranked clubs A5.
Though Abrigo-Emborsky is originally from Toledo, OH she attended high school in Pender County where she helped lead the team to a second place finish at the state championship during her junior year and a top four finish her senior year.
Abrigo-Emborsky has continued playing a hefty amount of volleyball but this time in the sand. She resides in Wilmington, NC with her husband Tim and three children, Anna, Brooke and Ethan.
