Sea Devils Down Forsyth 3-1
Cape Fear Community College volleyball battled through a sluggish start to earn a 3–1 road victory over Forsyth Technical Community College on Friday evening. The Sea Devils dropped the opening set 23–25 but quickly regrouped, finding their rhythm to take the next three by scores of 25–20, 25–18, and 25–19.
Forsyth capitalized on early Cape Fear miscues to grab the momentum in set one, but the Sea Devils responded with energy and precision in the second. A surge of strong serving from Liberty Ipsen and Laci Bitterman, along with key blocks from Addi Olson, helped shift the tone of the match. From that point forward, Cape Fear controlled the tempo, showing composure in long rallies and consistency at the net.
Head coach Colby Rosser praised her team's resilience after the match. "We struggled to get going tonight, but really answered the challenge after dropping set one," Rosser said. "Nevaeh was a huge leader for us on both ends of the ball with both her offense and blocking. Libby stepped into a role change and was incredibly solid, and Quinn's steady defense and presence in serve receive helped us when we were out of rhythm."
With the win, Cape Fear improves to 13–1 overall and 7–1 in Region 10 play. The Sea Devils return to action tomorrow against Wake Tech.
