Swainsboro, GA - Cape Fear women's basketball defeated East Georgia State, 64-42, in the first game of the East Georgia Classic.
Freshman Andreal Bass scored 14 points, while sophomore Dynasty Heyward finished with 12.
"Very proud of our team tonight," said head coach Lori Drake. "It's always difficult to come off a long bus ride and start a game and finish."
Coach Drake emphasized the importance of putting the win behind them to prepare for tomorrow's game.
"We must refocus for a quick turn around tomorrow against a very good Eastern Florida State team."
The Sea Devils improve to 5-0 on the season. They play against Eastern Florida State tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
