Sea Devils Cruise Past Camp In Home Opener
Cape Fear Community College men's basketball delivered another dominant performance on Tuesday night, rolling past Camp Community College 97–66 in their home opener.
The Sea Devils wasted little time asserting control, racing to a 47–24 lead by halftime behind sharp shooting and unselfish play. They finished the night shooting over 50 percent from both the field and three-point range while converting 27 of 33 free throws.
JJ Moore set the tone with 20 points, seven assists, and five steals, controlling the tempo on both ends. Jadyn Cooper poured in 19 points and went 10-for-11 from the line, while Malachi Simpson added 15 points and nine rebounds in a strong two-way effort inside.
Cape Fear's bench also made a big impact. Jacob Daniels knocked down four three-pointers to score 12, and Greysen McCadden added 10 points on efficient shooting. The Sea Devils' defense forced 15 turnovers, turning them into transition buckets that helped the margin balloon midway through the second half.
"It was a total team effort tonight," said Head Coach Mark Lane. "I thought we only played one good half, so we've got to do a better job putting two halves together. We'll use this week to clean that up before our next matchup."
The win keeps Cape Fear unbeaten at 3–0 as they continue to build early-season momentum. The Sea Devils return to action Saturday, November 15, at 1:00 PM when they host East Georgia State College in Wilmington.
