Sea Devils Top East Georgia State 77–67
Cape Fear Community College men's basketball picked up its second consecutive road win of the young season, defeating East Georgia State 77–67 behind a strong defensive performance and balanced scoring.
The Sea Devils set the tone early with disciplined defense, limiting East Georgia's opportunities while generating key stops and turnovers. Offensively, Cape Fear moved the ball efficiently, controlling the pace and taking advantage of open looks.
The Sea Devils built a solid lead in the first half, outscoring the home team 36–29, and continued to extend their advantage in the second half to secure the ten-point win. MJ Rice led the team with 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Jadyn Cooper contributed 19 points and seven rebounds, and JJ Moore added 10 points with six assists. Newcomer Jonathan White added two clutch 3's late in the contest to seal the victory for the Sea Devils.
Head coach Mark Lane reflected on the effort: "Our defensive effort was really good all game, and ultimately that's what got us the win. Anytime you can get back to back wins on the road, the trip home becomes much easier. We will look to build on these wins moving into our first home game of the year."
With the victory, the Sea Devils improve to 2–0 on the season, carrying momentum into their first home contest of the year Tuesday, as they welcome Camp Community College to the Schwartz Center. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
