Chris Libert
Women's Soccer Head Coach
Chris Libert has been the Head Women's Soccer Coach since the team's NJCAA-Region X inception in 2006. Coach Libert's Lady Sea Devils have won the Region X Tournament Title, four consecutive years ('06-'09) and the Regular Season Tiltle in '06 and '07. The Sea Devils have compiled an overall conference record of 36-3-1 over the four years of existence. The team has scored 186 goals yielding only 19 against in Region X play. Coach Libert has received the Region X "Coach of the Year" award four times ('06, '07, '08, '09) and has produced the schools first NJCAA All American (Holly Humphrey '06) and a second, Kimberly Keener ('07). Libert has also produced the "Region X Player of the Year" in '06 and '07, and 27 "All Region X" players overall.
Coach Libert played professionally in the USISL (Currently United Soccer Leagues) with the Eastern Shore Sharks (Maryland) of the Pro League and the Cocoa Expos - PDL. He then turned to the administration side of the game, were he served as the General Manager and Director of Soccer Operations for the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Division II for the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Libert served as the Hammerheads assistant and goalkeeping coach for the '06 and '07 seasons. Libert lettered as a Goalkeeper at East Carolina University (’91-’95) while pursing a BS degree in Recreation and Leisure in ’96 and eventually a Master’s degree in Exercise Sports Science in ’98 while serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Pirates.
Libert has coached in many youth organizations as well as in the collegiate and professional ranks. Currently, he holds a National Coaches License with the NSCAA.
While a native of Great Falls, VA. and the DC metropolitan area, Libert resides in Wilmington, N.C.
