Chris Libert moved into the administrative role of Assistant Director of Athletics for Student Activities and Community Relations in November of 2015 after coaching with Sea Devil Athletics for 10 Years. Libert spent 3 seasons as Sea Devils Head Men's Soccer Coach ('13-'15) and 7 years as Head Women's Soccer Coach ('06-'12). During his tenure with the Sea Devils, Libert amassed a 125-47-15 overall record. Libert was the very first Head Coach of the CFCC Women's Soccer program from 2006 until 2012. In his seven seasons with the women, Libert's Lady Sea Devils won five Region 10 Tournament Titles ('06-'10) and five Regular Season Titles ('06, '07, '10-'12). The team also garnered District Runners-up five times ('06-'10). Under Libert's direction, the Lady Sea Devils compiled a Region 10 record of 76-6-3 and an overall NJCAA record of 98-23-7. In those seven years, the team scored 407 goals and yielded only 47 against, in Region 10 conference play.
Coach Libert received the women's Region 10 "Coach of the Year" award 6 times ('06-'09,'11,'12) and produced the school's first NJCAA All American Holly Humphrey ('06) and three others, Kimberly Keener ('07), Carley Strauss ('10), and Jaylyn High ('11). High was the first and only player in CFCC women's soccer program history to be named to the NJCAA All American "First Team". Libert has also produced the Region 10 "Player of the Year" in '06 (Humphrey), '07 (Keener),'10 (Strauss) and '11 (High), and 52 "All Region 10" players have been recognized over his 10 years.
Coach Libert played professionally in the USISL (Currently United Soccer League) with the Eastern Shore Sharks (Maryland) of the D3 Pro League and the Cocoa Expos (Florida) of the PDL. He then turned to the administration side of the game, where he served as the General Manager and Director of Soccer Operations for the Wilmington Hammerheads of the USL Division II for the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Libert served as the Hammerheads assistant and goalkeeping coach for the '06 and '07 seasons. He has been working as the Hammerheads LIVE TV Webcast Play by Play/Color Commentator since 2012.
Libert lettered in Soccer as a Goalkeeper at East Carolina University ('91-'95) while pursuing a BS degree in Recreation and Leisure in '96 and eventually a Master's degree in Exercise Sports Science in '98 while serving as a graduate assistant coach for the Pirates.
Libert has coached in many youth organizations as well as in the collegiate and professional ranks and currently holds a NCSAA "National" Coaches License.
While a native of Great Falls, Virginia and the DC metropolitan area, Libert resides in Wilmington, NC.
