Sea Devils Roll Past Southern Tech
Shepherd leads Cape Fear with 22
Wilmington, NC - The Cape Fear Community College Sea Devils wasted little time getting on the scoreboard yesterday evening in Charlotte. Richard Shepherd connected with Vernon Payne for a high flying slam dunk to open the game and the Sea Devils never looked back defeating Southern Tech 95-70. The win pushes Cape Fear to 6-2 on the season with six games remaining before Christmas break. Cape Fear was paced by Richard Shepherd's 22 points. Cephas Oglesby poured in 17 points while Hunter Matthews chipped in 15 in the win. Vernon Payne and Nick Jefferson rounded out the double digit scoring recording 13 and 10 points respectively. The Sea Devils are back in action tomorrow night as they head to Hudson, NC for a tilt with Caldwell Community College. Cape Fear returns home next weekend for a great double header. College of Coastal Georgia comes to the Schwartz Center Friday night while Central Carolina Community College visits Saturday evening. Tip-off for the contests are 7:00 p.m. Friday and 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
